He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Lisa (Krull) Heins; his mother: Arlene Heins of Grand Rapids; his children: Josh (Mary) Eggert of Sebewaing, Alicia (Andrew Ritter) Eggert of Caro, Raymond Heins of Port Austin, Veronica (Dakoda) Wolschleger of Port Austin; and his grandchildren: Carter Hogan, Walter Eggert, and Reuben Eggert. He is also survived by his siblings: Brenda (Mark) Walton, Big Rapids, Lynn (David) Evins, Lyman, Wyoming, Julie (Ron) Rabideau, Grand Rapids; and his sisters-in-law and brother-in-law: Laurie Segura, Albuquerque, New Mexico, Cheryl Hogan, Bad Axe, Karl (Jennifer) Krull, Port Austin, Aimee (Don Marentette) Krull, Port Austin, as well as several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Heins, his father-in-law Charles Edward Krull, and his mother-in-law Judy Krull

Biography

Raymond Charles Heins, 53, of Port Austin died peacefully on Wednesday, December 29th, 2021 after a 14-month battle with Glioblastoma Multiforme (an aggressive brain cancer). He was born on September 9, 1968 in Saginaw, MI. Ray enjoyed nature, gardening, visiting the upper peninsula, his dogs, and classic rock music. He owned and operated Heins Hardware with his wife for 20 years. Ray took great pride in serving the community through his work. In addition to operating the hardware store, he was a master electrician, a locksmith, and generally a jack of all trades. Ray was a faithful member of The River’s Edge church in Caseville, MI for more than 20 years. Ray was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather.
