Funeral Mass for Betty will be Monday, January 2, 2023 at 11 am at Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church, of the Holy Name of Mary Parish, with Fr. Kevin Wojciechowski officiating. Burial will follow in the OLLH Church Cemetery. Visitation for Betty will be on Sunday, from 2-7 pm at the Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor Beach. Visitation on Monday, will be at the church, beginning at 10 am until time of services at 11 am. A Parish Vigil Service will take place Sunday, 6 pm at the funeral home. Betty is survived by her children: Thomas (Paula) Wood, Stephen (Catherine) Wood, David (Rochelle) Wood, James (Cheryl) Wood, Susan (Patrick) Sorenson, Charles (Kim) Wood, Robert (Lisa) Wood, 18 grandchildren: Anthony, Andrew, Aaron and Adam Wood, Robert Wood, Stephanie Wampler, Mary Wood, Alex Wood, Joel Wood, Jodi Slimmen, Christopher Sorenson, Thomas, Jennifer and Sean Sorenson, Jacob, Emily and Maxwell Wood, and Nathan Wood, 17 great grandchildren, sister Francis (Miller) Robb, and many nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her siblings: Herman (Louise) (Pat) Miller, David (Virginia) Miller, Margaret (Jack) Currie, Rhea (Hank) Eppenbrock, brother-in-law Dr. Jim Robb and sister-in-law Dorothy (Floyd) Meyer.
Betty A. Wood, age 94 of Harbor Beach, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Lakeview Extended Care and Rehab Center, of the Harbor Beach Community Hospital. She was born on December 31, 1927 in Harbor Beach, to the late Anthony & Irene (Parak) Miller. Betty and Robert Wood were united in marriage on January 12, 1952 in Harbor Beach. He preceded her in death on June 14, 2020. Betty was a member of Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church. She worked for Dr. Charlie Oakes for many years. Betty graduated the first EMT class held for Eastern Huron Ambulance Service in 1978. She worked many years for Eastern Huron Ambulance Service. Betty enjoyed playing Gappa and Push and her true love was her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
