Funeral Services for Friday, August 4, 2023 at 2 pm, at the Mount Vernon Baptist Church, 8828 Wormer Ave, Redford, MI. Visitation will begin at 12 noon until time of services at 2 pm. Services Saturday, August 5, 2023 will be at the Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor Beach, 425 State Street, Harbor Beach, MI, at 2 pm. Visitation will begin at 12 noon until time of services at 2 pm. Graveside services will take place Monday, August 7, 2023 at 2 pm at Oak Grove Cemetry, 8279 Elm Ave, Newaygo, MI. A fellowship and small luncheon will be held immediately after at the Northern Trail Bar and Grill, 7282 E. 88th St. Newaygo, MI. Memories can be shared at www.RamseyFH.com
Brian is survived by his brothers: John (Joan) Woodward of Harbor Beach, Dennis Woodward of Terlingua, Texas, 2 uncles: Don (Mary) Lang of Grand Rapids, Jim (Cindy) Lang of Lansing, 2 aunts: Lois (Woodward Stehhouwer of Holland, Linda (Woodward Ward of Newaygo, 3 nieces: Cassidy (Alex) (Woodward) Razo, Rita (Art) (Ruper) Burd, Robin (Woodward) Zajicek, 1 nephew: John (Christi) Ruper. He also leaves behind many cousins, great nieces and nephews. And his many caregivers over the past 40 years, especially Karlene and Janet. At Brian's request, 3 services will take place.
Brian David Woodward, age 64 of Detroit, passed away Monday, July 31, 2023 at William Beaumont Hospital, Farmington Hills. Brian was born on Jue 5, 1959 in Fremont, to the late Allen and Marjorie (Lang) Woodward. Brian graduated in 1977 from Port Hope Schools. He attended Delta Community College and also attended Northwood University where he graduated with a bachelors degree in business and computer science. Birna worked as a contractor for Ford Motor Company. Brian loved the outdoors. His caregivers took him fishing, hunting, and boating. He enjoyed being with family and friends. He was a member of the Mount Vernon Baptist Church in Redford where he was a member of the Choir. Brian was a huge advocate for rights for the disabled. He was instrumental in the group called "We Can't Wait", combatting the government that took their no fault insurance benefits away in 2019. Brian mentored other quadiplegic crash survivors. He tutored and mentored children in his community. He was a caring, compassionate, giving person who always was willing to help someone in need. He always had a smile on his face and kind words to say.
