Family of the Deceased

Mark was the loving father of Vernon (Brigitte) Kaliszewski and Mark aka Tim (Roberta) Kaliszewski, cherished grandfather of Leah, Christopher, Mark, Jasmine, Jadea, Gail and James, great grandfather of Madison, Miranda, Taylor and Grayson, predeceased by his grandson Ryan, his siblings, Chris, Leo, Marie and Helen and his parents Theodore and Felicia (Nowakowski).

Biography

He was born on June 24, 1935 in Ubly to Theodore and Felicia (Nowakowski) Kaliszewski. He grew up on a farm in Ubly, riding tractors, picking cucumbers and selling bottle caps. Mark graduated from the University of Michigan with a Mechanical Engineering Degree in Ann Arbor. He started out working for Chrysler, moving to Southeast Detroit where he and his former spouse began to raise their two sons. Eventually, he decided to move the family back to the thumb and he bought Martin Machinery from his uncle. He then moved on to work for Huron Castings on their sales team. He accomplished many things throughout his life, but his proudest was designing, building, and living most of his life in his dream home on the shore of Lake Huron. He enjoyed raising his sons and imparted much support, adventure, and knowledge to them. He continued to visit and support his sons in adulthood and loved visiting with them and his grandchildren. He believed in God, and that heaven is the Earth and its blessings that we are able to enjoy. He loved nature, especially birds and deer, and was an avid traveler, skier and sailor, frequently visiting our great national parks. He always said he was blessed to live during the greatest time in this country's history. His long and rich life warrants celebration. His impassioned advice was to always follow God and that you can achieve your dreams with, in his exact words, ingenuity and determination. The memory of Mark Kaliszewski will forever live on in our hearts and mind.
