Funeral services will be at 2:00pm Saturday, October 28th at Cross Lutheran Church with Rev. Karen Bouverette officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11:00am Saturday and continue until the time of the service at church. Champagne Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements. Memorials may be made to Cross Lutheran Church.

Dorothy is survived by her sons Terry (Sharon) of Richville and Robert (Debra) of Bay Port; grandchildren Stacy Specht, Scott (Leticia), Steven, Kiel (Brittany), and Kaitlyn; great-grandchildren Alexis, Christian, Logan, Samuel, Caden, Maya, Sofia, Olivia, and Alex; sister Elaine Watterworth of Sterling Heights and brother Ernest (Sharon) Buchholz Jr. of Elkton; and sister-in-law Inez Buchholz of Elkton. She was preceded in death by her brothers Raymond and Clarence Buchholz and sisters Beatrice Deering and Ruth Blome.

Biography

Dorothy E. Henne, 94, of Bay Port, passed away Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Huron County Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe. Dorothy was born May 30, 1929 in Oliver Twp to the late Ernest Sr. and Marie (Wurst) Buchholz. She graduated in 1947 from Elkton High School having never missed a day of school. On November 6, 1948 she married Dale Henne at Cross Lutheran Church in Pigeon; he preceded her in death on August 10, 2009. Dorothy was a homemaker and farm wife, known for keeping a beautiful home and yard. She was a lifelong member of Cross Lutheran Church. She was talented at knitting, crocheting and crafting. She enjoyed baking and showing and selling her crafts at local shows.
