Funeral service for Joyce will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at MacAlpine Mac Chapel in Bad Axe at 11:00, with Mary Kain officiating from St. Paul Episcopal church of Bad Axe. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at MacAlpine, Mac Chapel from 3:00-8:00, and on Wednesday from 10:00 until the time of service. Memorials may be offered to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Bad Axe. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.macalpinefuneralhome.com

Joyce is survived by her husband Jim of 43 years; sons Kenneth McIntosh, Thomas McIntosh, Ronald (Barbara) McIntosh, Terry Headlee, David (Connie) Headlee; daughters Janet (Ron) Hunt, Joanne (Larry) Stevens, Jean (Alan) Foether, Lynn (special friend Brian) Conklin; brother John (Mary) LaFave; sisters Florence Staricha and Vera Law; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Joyce was preceded in death by daughters-in-law Sally McIntosh, Angie Headlee; brothers and sisters-in-law Thomas (Helen) LaFave, Edward (Joann) LaFave; sister Ruth (Van) DesJardin; brother-in-law Herman Law; and grandson Sean McIntosh.

Biography

Joyce Marie Headlee, 87 years old of Bad Axe, passed away on November 3, 2023 at McLaren Thumb Regional hospital. Joyce was born to the late Garfield and Verna (Trusdale) LaFave on April 29, 1936 in Gagetown, Michigan. She and James Headlee were married August 15, 1980. Joyce was known for her great cooking and baking, she enjoyed flowers, spending time with family and playing cards. During their marriage, she and Jim spent many years traveling the US and Canada in their RV. She was a member of St. Paul Episcopal Church in Bad Axe.
