Nancy Patricia Aymen, 93, of Bad Axe passed away in her home surrounded by family on Saturday, November 25, 2023. She was born August 11, 1930 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Mary and Sylvester D’Arco. Nancy P. D’Arco and A. Arthur Aymen were married November 20, 1948 at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Port Huron, Michigan. Originally from Port Huron, Art and Nancy purchased Thumb Broadcasting, Inc. with radio stations WLEW-AM & WLEW-FM and moved to the Bad Axe area in 1971. Art & Nancy celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1998. After Art’s passing in 1999, Nancy continued to work in the family business until her passing. Over the years Nancy was a pillar at Thumb Broadcasting and was instrumental in its growth where the business has added thumbnet.net and WHST-FM. Nancy believed in giving back to her community and was a member of numerous organizations over the years including: Huron Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Red Hat Society, Investment Club, Child Study Group, Helping Hands, Business Professional Women’s Club. Nancy was a member of various Chambers of Commerce, Friends of the Bad Axe Public Library, National Association of Broadcasters, and many other groups and organizations. Nancy was a parishioner at St. Hubert Parish Sacred Heart Catholic Church for over 50 years. Nancy’s interests included: reading, swimming, vacationing with her husband, children, and grandchildren, and was a local hockey enthusiast. Nancy and Art participated in various bridge clubs around the Bad Axe area over many years. Nancy was a very outgoing person who had many friends in the community some who are still living and some who have gone before her. Nancy’s wish was to be in her home until her passing. This would not have been possible without the support of her family as well as the following incredible care takers: Anna, Cheri, JoLynn, Sue, Val and Vicki. Her beautiful smile, and contagious laugh will certainly be missed.
