Funeral Information

Funeral services will be at 11:00am Wednesday, November 29th at Evangel Life Assembly of God in Bad Axe. Visitation will be 2-8pm Tuesday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel in Pigeon. Memorials may be made to Evangel Life Assembly of God.

Family of the Deceased

Josie is survived by her husband Lawrence; sons Brian (Terri) of Ubly and Tony (Teresa) of Bad Axe; grandchildren Taylor, Andrew, Casey, Alex, Chris, and Katie; great-grandchildren Ridley, Silas, and Oliver. She was preceded in death by her son Daniel, and her five brothers Clare, Darold, Dale, Edwin and Duane Schember.

Biography

Josephine A. Rockefeller, 78, of Owendale passed away Sunday, November 26, 2023 at McLaren Lapeer Medical Center in Lapeer. Josie was born September 19, 1945 in Pigeon to the late Walter and Eleanor (Lucht) Schember. She graduated in 1964 from Laker High School. She married Lawrence Rockefeller on September 18, 1965 at the Bad Axe Assembly of God. Josie was a member of Evangel Life Assembly of God where she taught Sunday School for over 40 years. She enjoyed puzzles, word games, and watching game shows. She loved spending time with children, whether her own or any of the neighborhood kids she cared for.
