Funeral Information

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 4, 2023, at 11 am at St. Hubert Parish – Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bad Axe. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 3, 2023, from 3 – 7 pm at the Kaufman Funeral Home in Bad Axe or Monday at the church from 10 am until the service time at 11 am. Family of the Deceased

Dan is survived by one son, Anthony Guigar, two daughters, Kimberly Motz (Jeff Weber) and Kari (Douglas) Schember. Four grandchildren, Shawn O’Parka, Jackson Motz, Rachel Schember and Evan Schember. Four brothers, Joseph (Diane) Guigar, John (Rita) Guigar, Richard (Diane) Guigar, and Elmer (Patricia) Guigar. Three sisters, Kathleen (Ralph) Behnke, Anna Laming, and Sabina (Bud) Leigh. Sister-in-law, Audrey Wolschlager. Many nieces and nephews. Dan was preceded in death by his daughter, Kelly Guigar Young. Brothers- and sisters-in-law, Louis Laming, Elizabeth Landry, Margaret Volmering, Rose Sherman, Rita Ostrander, Theresa Durand, Clarence Hessling, Charles Hessling, and Angeline Burkhard.

Biography

Daniel E. Guigar, Jr. age 80, of Bad Axe passed away on Monday, November 27, 2023, at his home surrounded by family. Dan was born on January 31, 1943, to Daniel and Sabina (Dybilas) Guigar. He married Beatrice Hessling on June 26, 1965. She preceded him in death on February 26, 2021. Dan was a member of St. Hubert Parish. He worked at Huron Tool and Engineering. Dan enjoyed golfing, playing cards, going to the casino, and buying scratch-off tickets.
