Gail is survived by her daughters, Pamela (Duane) Weber of Pt. Austin and Sheryl Jo (the late Don Koroleski) of Filion, son Brian (Carol) Millgard of Pt. Austin. A sister, Renee (Larry) Pulcer of Harbor Beach. Brothers-in-law, Philip McBride of Elkton and Owen Sommerfeld of Traverse City. Sister-in-law, Loraine Ross of Brolingbrook, IL. Cousin, Linda (Dale) Oeschger of Bay Port. Six grandchildren, April (Rob) Ellery, Kirsten Champagne and her fiancé Doug Birchfield, Mike Young and fiancée Tiaja McKnight, Brad Young and fiancée Heather Galat, Bryan Koroleski and Jill Koroleski. Nine great-grandchildren, Raymond, Brendan, Blake, Isabelle, Kailen, Collin, Keira, Riley, and Shaelyn, and many nieces and nephews that were very special to her. Gail was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Millgard, son Jeffrey Millgard, son-in-law, Donald Koroleski, sisters, Deanna Sommerfeld, Charlene McBride, Lori Parker and Bonnie Gottschalk. Maureen Gail Millgard, age 82 of Port Austin, passed away peacefully to be with our Lord Jesus on Monday, September 23, 2024, following a brief illness. Known to family and friends as “Gail”, she was born on December 17, 1941 in Bad Axe, daughter of the late Alex and Beulah (Leckenby) Parker. Gail was united in marriage to James C. Millgard on July 24, 1964. He preceded her in death on January 15, 2020. Gail graduated from Bad Axe High School and went on to nursing school, eventually owning and running her own adult foster care home, New Beginnings in Filion. Prior to that, she worked many years for Hammil Manufacturing, Sunny Acres, Dr. Lockard’s office nurse, Northgate Menswear, and Kritzmans Clothing store. Gail was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. She loved family, friends, her animals, painting, crocheting, antiquing, fishing, and was an avid reader.
