Biography

Harry Edward Schmidt, age 76, of Bad Axe, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2024. He was born on June 14, 1948 in Bad Axe, son of the late Harry W. and Genevieve (Parks) Schmidt. Ed was the owner/operator of Recreation Unlimited in Bad Axe. He was the crew chief of the Varsity Auto Group – 22 Late Model Race Team. He worked for Clarity McDowell Patton and her husband Mark McDowell Patton and they became very special friends. The family would like to thank them for the special care they gave Ed in his time of need. Ed had his own racecar at one time. Racing was his passion
