Visitation will be 2-8 Tuesday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel. Memorials may be made to St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church - Berne.
Peggy is survived by her children James (Teresa) of Battle Creek, Lynn (Matt) Sorrell of Hudsonville, Beth (Norm) Myers of Vicksburg and Angie (Tim) First of Mattawan; grandchildren Haley, Katie (Marcus), Austin, Zach, Ashley, Henry, Charlotte, Brady, and Claire; sisters Joyce (Richard) Pedler and Patty (Tom) Davis; and sister-in-law Margie (Mike) Stevenson. She was preceded in death by her brother Glenn Johnson.
Marguerite “Peggy” Roestel, 82, of Pigeon, passed away Friday, September 27, 2024 at Hawthorne Landing Assisted Living in Kalamazoo. Peggy was born January 23, 1942 in Detroit to the late Glenn and Evelyn (Olinger) Johnson. In 1960 she graduated from Pigeon High School. She married Donald J. Roestel on December 2, 1961 at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church - Berne; he preceded her in death on September 10, 2017. She ran a hair salon out of her home called “Peggy’s Cut and Curl,” and was well known for her cake decorating business. She was a member of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church - Berne, President of St. John’s Women’s Society and Chat and Chew. She enjoyed gardening, camping, bowling and time spent with her family and card club friends.
