Bob is survived by his wife of 50 years, Susan (McRae). His children, Amy (Paul ) Britz of Flint, Stacy (Rex) Hastey of Oklahoma, Chuck (Debi) Van Erp of Cass City, Angie (Chris) Guza of Ubly, Karen (Kevin) Romzek of Ubly, Dale (Lindsey) Van Erp of Bad Axe and Carla (Randy) Hill of Allendale. Grandchildren, Paul and Josh Britz, Abbie, Grant and John Guza, Sarah and Laura Romzek, Calvin and Thomas Van Erp, and Olivia and Mason Hill. Also survived by three sisters, Mary Kubacki, Florence (Norman) Briolat, and Evelyn Schadd. Sister-in-law, Kay Van Erp and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Joe, Al, and Bill Van Erp. Three sisters, Marcella Campbell, Dorothy Schmidt and Agnes Zawilinski. Brothers-in-law, W.J. Campbell, Walter Zawilinski, Bob Schmidt, Al Kubacki, Earl Shadd and Richard McRae. Sisters-in-law, Carol Van Erp, Ruth Ann Van Erp and Laurie McRae. His parents, Fritz and Helen Van Erp. In-laws, Ken and Laura McRae. Bob’s family would like to thank his care givers and Compassus Hospice for their excellent care.

Biography

Robert Van Erp passed away peacefully, Saturday, September 28, 2024 at home following a long battle with a form of Parkinsons’s Disease. Bob was a member of Good Sheperd Parish – St. Columbkille Catholic Church. He was a lifelong farmer in Sheridan Township until his illness forced him to retire. He enjoyed playing fast pitch softball and being a member of a bowling league in his younger years. Bob also liked to hunt fox and coyote, along with taking his hunting dogs to McKinley to train them on bear.
