A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 11 am at the Bad Axe Free Methodist Church. June is survived by two children, Bryan (Angie) Pitcavage of Eau Claire, WI and Theresa Pitcavage of Murray, KY. As well as step-children, David (Julie) Schaffer of Kentucky, Chuck Winchester, and Christi Winchester Schultz. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Samantha (Tanner) Berg of Eau Claire, WI, Charlie (Savannah) Pitcavage of Eau Claire, WI, Alieya Hupe of AZ, Nicole Warren of AZ, Ashley, Kathleen, and Christopher “CJ” Schaffer of KY. Great-grandchildren, Liam, Kenny, Bently, Emily, Payton. Her brother, Ronald (Shirley) Fitchett. Sisters-in-law, Beverly Fitchett, Delores Mitchell, and Katherine Hadaway. She was much loved by many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death by her husband James Schaffer. Sisters, Dorothy Schmitt, Violet (James) Wells, Mary Hadaway. Brothers, Larry Fitchett, Donny Fitchett, Danny Fitchett, Dale Fitchett, Robert Mitchell, Tom Hadaway and Dave Hadaway.

Biography

June Schaffer, age 75, of Bad Axe, passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at McLaren Bay Region following a short illness. She was born on March 13, 1949, daughter of the late Orville and Margaret (Goodfellow) Fitchett. June was multi-talented with a “bring it on” attitude. She became a beautician, and she worked under others and fulfilled her dream of owning her own shop. She was also a talented seamstress, anything from wedding and prom dresses to upholstery, she could do it. She went on to make many beautiful quilts. She married Jim Schaffer on December 27, 2003.…and not only rode along on his trips in his 18 wheeler, but she got her CDL and shared in driving the 18 wheeler.
