Tonda is survived by her husband John Strong; daughters Nicole (Derek) Hewitt of Bad Axe and Tiffany Hewitt of Bad Axe; grandchildren Dasia, Benjamin, Piper, Jaxon, Penelope, Arthur and Dreke; sister Shirley Nichols of Roscommon; brothers Dan (Sue) Griggs of Sandusky and Dave Griggs of Owendale; and her beloved cat Six.
Tonda Sue Slater, 63, of Bad Axe, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2024 at Corewell Health in Royal Oak. Tonda was born June 9, 1961 in Bad Axe to the late Leonard and Betty (Gotham) Griggs. She worked as a bartender at Frank’s Plaza in Bad Axe. She enjoyed crafting, music, traveling with her husband, the outdoors and all things cat.
