Visitation for James will be on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at the MacAlpine Mac Chapel from 1:00-5:00. A Masonic service will be held at 5:00 with the funeral service to follow at 5:30 with Rev. G. Patrick Thompson officiating. Memorials may be offered to St. Paul Episcopal Church in Bad Axe. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.macalpinefuneralhome.com

James is survived by the mother of his children Norma Headlee; his children Terry Headlee, David (Connie) Headlee, Lynn Conklin; stepchildren Kenneth McIntosh, Thomas McIntosh, Janet (Ronald) Hunt, Joanne (Larry) Stevens, Jean (Gerald) Foether, Ronald (Barbara) McIntosh; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. James was preceded in death by his daughter Christy, daughter-in-law Angie; step daughter-in-law Sally; brother Herb and wife Audrey Headlee; sister Arlene and husband Vern Roskey.

Biography

James Elmer Headlee, 93 years old, passed away on April 19, 2025 at Meadow Lane Assisted Living in Bad Axe. He was born on June 1, 1931 to the late Herbert and Eva Headlee. James played all sports in his younger years, and still enjoyed watching a good game on TV. He enjoyed fishing, traveling and playing euchre. He was a member of St. Paul Episcopal Church in Bad Axe, and Marysville Masonic Lodge #158. He had also served in the United States Marines. James married Joyce (LaFave) McIntosh in August of 1980 and they shared 43 years of marriage before she passed away on November 3, 2023.
