Margaret’s greatest pride was her family, especially her five children with the late Raymond F. Cook. She is survived by her daughter Diane (Larry) Johnston, son Steve Cook (Kimberly Herrington), son David (Kimberly) Cook, son Michael (Cindy) Cook, and daughter Annette (Jim) Wilson. She has 7 Grandchildren, Katie (Danny) Morris, Megan (Nate) Smith, Taylor (Jake) Wilson, Trevor Wilson, Hanna Cook, Tessa Wilson, and Michael Cook. She also has four great-grandchildren, Jaxon Morris, Sienna Morris, Ty Smith and Cal Smith.
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Margaret Ann Cook, age 90, of Bad Axe, who passed away on Wednesday, October 1st, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 4th, 1935 in Rapson, Michigan, daughter of the late Edward and Leona (Itchue) Koceba. She is survived by her Sister, Loretta Hoose and preceded in death by her brother, Edward Kociba and brother-in-law, Bill Hoose and sister-in-law Arlene Schultz. Margaret grew up in Rapson, Michigan. After graduating high school, she obtained her certificate as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Margaret began working at the Huron County Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe on January 16th, 1972 and had been employed full time for 44 years. She continued her passion part- time for an additional four years with officially retiring at the age of 85. Margaret was recognized by all as the “Nurse with a Cap” a 48 year tradition that symbolized her respect and commitment to nursing values and traditions. Margaret touched the lives of everyone who had the honor of knowing her. Her selflessness, warmth, and generous spirit will be remembered forever. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and compassion that lives on in all of us.
