Family of the Deceased

Andrew is survived by his wife of 25 years, Susan Lapka of Bad Axe, his daughter Heather Lapka of Caseville, and grandson Scott Walters of Caseville. His son, Matt Lapka and granddaughters Kayla and Emilee of Macomb County. The mother of his children, Denise Lapka of Caseville. He also leaves behind his sister, Deb (Dave) Butcher and brother Richard (Sharon) Sobczak both of Bad Axe. Many nieces and nephews, and his best buddy, Larry Janik. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Albertha Lapka, Father and Mother-in-law, Charles and Betty Townley. Also, his sister, Nancy and brothers, Chuck and Tim.

Biography

On October 8, 2025, Andrew Michael Lapka gained his wings at the age of 72 at his home with his family by his side. Andrew was born on July 26, 1953 in Bad Axe, son of the late Charles and Albertha (Talaski) Lapka. On October 27, 2000, he married the love of his life, Susan Townley. In their spare time they enjoyed traveling, casino trips, gardening, and camping. His favorite hobby was to deer hunt. Andrew worked for Bob Smith Builders for may years. He then retired from A.D.M. in Ubly.
