She is survived by her husband, Dave Dropiewski; her sons, Matthew (Melissa) Leppek, Trevor Dropiewski, and Tyler (Sydney) Dropiewski; and her granddaughter, Maci Dropiewski. She is also survived by her parents, Linda and Raoul Rhoades; and Les Swartzendruber, her siblings, Brenda Swartzendruber, Janelle Fischer, Brandon Swartzendruber, and Justin Swartzendruber; and her nieces, Megan Brann and Niki Leclair.

Biography

Shannon Kay Dropiewski, 53, of Ubly, Michigan, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Pigeon, Michigan, on December 22, 1971, to Linda Guster Rhoades and Les Swartzendruber. She grew up in Bad Axe, Michigan, where she shared a family passion for Tae Kwon Do and proudly earned the rank of Blue Belt. Shannon will be remembered as an influential mother, a loving wife, and a loyal friend. She was deeply selfless, dedicating her life to her family, friends, and her work as an Engineer’s Assistant at Gemini Plastics. Known for her dependability, kindness, honesty, and warmth, Shannon was the one people turned to for guidance, comfort, and laughter.Shannon lived by her motto, “It’ll all buff out.” These words of optimism and calm reflect the heart she brought into every challenge, and the light she leaves behind in all who knew her. Mama Bear It is what it is… Not giving in, just standing tall. She taught us to meet life head-on, With kindness, honesty, and resolve.
