Funeral Information

A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, October, 20, 2025 at The Annunciation of the Lord Parish – St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Port Austin at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Craig Carolyn officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday, October 19, 2025 from 3-7 p.m. at Knoblock Funeral Home in Kinde and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the service time at 11:00 a.m at the church Memorials may be offered to: Thumb Food Service, Ubly, Michigan and The Port Austin Library.

Family of the Deceased

She is survived by her son David (Theresa) Jandreski, three daughters, Donna (Larry) Strozeski, Clarice (Mark) Pettit, all of Port Austin, and Faye (Kenneth) Kent, of Chelmsford, Massachusetts. She has three grandchildren, Bradley Strozeski and special friend (Paris), Brittany (Mark) Donovan and Stephanie Kent. Three great-grandchildren, Austin Strozeski, Kenna and Keegan Donovan. She is also survived by two sisters, Nancy Peace, Yuba City, California, Gloria Leach, Kingman, Arizona and her in-laws; Shirley (Dave) Upthegrove, Otisville, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Charlie and John (Betty) Shaddock and two grandsons, Donovan and Shane Pettit. A special thank you goes out to Hospice and the dedicated staff of home care providers, Chris, Sheila, Kelly, Kathy, Ruth and Theresa for their love and compassionate care of Judy.

Biography

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ruth Ellen “Judy” Jandreski, 93, who died Wednesday, October 15, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 1, 1932 in Port Austin, Michigan, daughter of the late Albert and Estella (Navock) Shaddock. Ruth graduated from Port Austin High School in 1950. Shortly after she married the love of her life, Alfred Jandreski in 1952 at St Michael’s Catholic Church in Port Austin. They were married for 62 years, he preceded her in death 2014, and together they raised 4 beautiful children. Not only was she a homemaker, she also maintained a working career at Winder Products and then Port Austin Level and Tool in Port Austin. Ruth was a life time member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church. She never missed a day without her rosary and prayer books in hand. She touched the lives of everyone who had the honor of knowing her. She enjoyed traveling, reading, gardening, canning, cross word puzzles, card playing and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and compassion that lives on in all of us.
