Funeral Information

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 24, 2025 at 11 am at Holy Apostles Parish – Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ruth. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2025, from 2-6pm at the Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor Beach, and at the church from 10 am until the time of service at 11 am, on Monday. A Rosary will be offered on Sunday, at 5 pm, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Memories can be shared at www.RamseyFH.com

He is survived by his wife Lorraine, his children: Ronald (JoAnn) Holdwick of St. Peters, MO, Kathleen (Richard) Weller of St. Johns, Diane (Alvin) Pollum of Ubly, Douglas Holdwick of Allenton, Lori Stern of Chester, VA, Bruce Holdwick of Grand Blanc, Sharon (Steve) Simons of Grand Ledge, Kevin Holdwick of Lansing, Karen, (Craig) Roys of Imlay City, Marsha (Gary) Blasen of Kalamazoo, 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Anna Holdwick, son Floyd Holdwick, sibling infant brothers John and Clemens Holdwick, Loretta (Harold) Stacer, Robert (Irene) Holdwick, Lenore (Stanley) Kups, Roman (Clarann) Holdwick, Magdelene (Merlin) Stacer and Leo (Shirley) Holdwick

Biography

JOSEPH HOLDWICK age 93 of Ruth, passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Harbor Beach Community Hospital. He was born on January 1, 1933 in Sherman Township, Michigan to Henry and Anna (Buescher) Holdwick. He and Lorraine Kranz were united in marriage on May 22, 1954 in Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church of Harbor Beach. They celebrated 71 years together. He enjoyed ice fishing on Saginaw Bay, meeting at the House of Knowledge and Corner Store for coffee and a friendly game of euchre, farming, deer hunting, pressing cider, growing walnuts, visits by his children, grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews as well as bragging about the many racoons, possums and skunks he caught in his box trap. He was also a member of the K of C, and past member of the Usher Club.
