John is survived by daughters, Esther (Dennis) Wood of Oregon, Karen Wood of Oregon and Patty (Brian) Murphy of Southgate. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. John was preceded in death by sons, Tom and Marty, grandson, Justin Wood, and siblings, Paul Leipprandt and Alice Kleinfeld.

Biography

John Carl Leipprandt, 100, of Southgate, formerly of Pigeon, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones on Saturday, November 22, 2025. John was born on May 10, 1925, in Pigeon, Michigan, to the late Hugo and Ethel (Ackerman) Leipprandt and was a 1944 graduate of Pigeon High School. John grew up on the family farm his grandfather established and tended it with great care once it came into his hands. He married Mary Mitin on March 3, 1951, at Salem EUB Church in Pigeon. She preceded him in death on February 13, 2018. John was a member of Gideons International for over 69 years, continuing to be active within the organization until his death. In his free time, John was a passionate gardener and enjoyed photography in his younger years. He especially treasured time spent with family and friends, whether it was playing card games, enjoying a cup of coffee, or just keeping up with them on Facebook.
