Funeral Information

Visitation for Mary Kay will take place Friday January 16, 2026 from 2:00 - 8:00pm a Oswald Hall at Sacred Heart Church in Bad Axe, MI. A rosary service will be offered Friday at 7pm . A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic church (St. Hubert Parish) Bad Axe, on Saturday January 17, 2026 at 11:00am with visitation also 10:00am until the time of service. Memorials may be offered to Huron County Special Olympics or the St. Hubert Parish Food Pantry. Condolences may be shared at www.RamseyFH.com

Mary Kay is survived by her parents and five sisters: Debbie (Terry) Dekoski of Ruth; Annette Wisneski of Bad Axe; Denise (Ron) Gebauer of Bad Axe; Carol (Kameron) Dugan of Wamego, KS; and Michelle (Tuan) Nguyen of Fuquay Varina, NC. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews that she loved & adored: Mark (Courtney) Dekoski and their children Macy, Alex, Kady, and Reed of Ubly; Carrie (Kyle) Yamamoto and their boys Tanner and Connor of Reno, NV; Eric Dekoski & special friend Alison of Fenton, MI; Kimberly Dekoski of Washington Township, MI; Aaron (Jen) Gebauer and their children, Noah (Lauren) Mercer of Goldsboro, NC, Hannah Mercer & special friend Noah, Jackson, and Dawson Gebauer of Saginaw; Joshua Gebauer of Bad Axe, MI; Brad (Dyana) Gebauer and their boys Lucas and Braydon of Laingsburg, MI; Kyra Dugan & fiancé Stephan of Wamego, KS; Merrick Dugan of Wamego, KS; Brandon (Hayley) Nguyen of Kailua, HI; and Miahnna (Will) Jones of Virginia Beach, VA. Also, many aunts, uncles, and cousins whom ALWAYS made Mary Kay feel special and loved. A special thank you to our gracious friend Marilyn Rice, for all of her love and care with our family. Thank you as well to McLaren Thumb Region ER doctors and staff for such loving, special, and memorable moments for Mary Kay in her last month and days on earth; especially Stacie, Sonia, Tina, Jill, and most of all Christopher for singing with her. To them and all others not mentioned, your kindness will ALWAYS be remembered in our hearts.

Biography

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Kay Wisneski on January 7th, 2026 with family by her side, at McLaren Thumb Regional Hospital in Bad Axe, MI. Mary Kay was born on June 15th 1962 to Eugene (Frosty) & Mary Ann (Kubacki) Wisneski in Bad Axe. She attended Filion Trainable School until attending Huron Learning Center and graduated from there. Mary Kay then went to work at Thumb Industries where she helped manufacture parts. She also worked at Thumb Industries. She loved bringing that pay check home! From there she joined Huron Behavior Health’s Community Links services, where she: participated in Huron County Special Olympics; volunteered stuffing envelopes at Bay Shore Camp; helped at Bad Axe Sr. Center in the dining room; helped at the baby pantry where she loved seeing babies come in; visited local nursing homes; went bowling, to the movies with friends, and played bingo, rejoicing any time she won. Thank you for the many lessons, friendships, and support that were given to Mary Kay and our family. Her happiest times were receiving mail addressed to her, even “homework” from Dana, and all celebrations of birthdays, weddings, and Community Links parties. She enjoyed collecting pictures from family for her own photo albums and would remind you if she needed an update. Mary Kay spent time with her Mom and Dad, making rosaries for missions, listening and dancing to Polka music, and being outside on the swing.
