Funeral Information

A Funeral Litergy will be on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at 12:00 at the MacAlpine Funeral Home in Bad Axe, with Fr.Yesu Mulakaleti officiating. Visitation will take place at the MacAlpine Funeral Home in Bad Axe on Saturday, January 24, 2026 from 10:00-12:00. At the request of Cindy and her family cremation has taken place at Sunset Valley Crematory in Bay City. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.macalpinefuneralhome.com Memorials in Cindy’s name may be offered to the family discretionary fund to Adam.

Cindy is survived by her husband Adam; her children Stacy (Nathan) Sievert, Douglas (Tiffany) Gucwa, Nicholas (Abigail) Gucwa; grandchildren Brent, Jaried, Alyssia, Lexie Gucwa, Mikayla Little, Devin (Morgan) Little, Justin (Erica) and Megan Sievert, Bethany and Samantha Gucwa; 2 great-grandchildren Henry and Nora Tough. She is also survived by her siblings Pamela (Allen) Kennedy, Robert (Kathy) Janderwski and many nieces and nephews; and by her brother-in-law Chester (Linda) Gucwa, sister in law Linda Gucwa and mother in-law Mary Gucwa. Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law Michael Gucwa, niece Emily Janderwski and father in-law Walter Gucwa.

Biography

Cindy Lou Gucwa, 69 years old of Bad Axe, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026 at home with her family by her side. Cindy was born to the late Raymond and Martha (Toner) Janderwski on June 27, 1956. Cindy and Adam Gucwa were married on August 4, 1973 and enjoyed 52 years together and raising their family of three together with much laughter and her ‘no nonsense’ wisdom. Cindy enjoyed time chatting over a cup of coffee, Sunday family visits, loving her grandchildren, rocking her great-grandson, laughing, dancing, trips to the casino. She enjoyed spending time close by her husband, and time with friends, telling stories and listening. Cindy grew up in Kinde and attended North Huron High School. Through the years she had also worked at Norman’s and Voltron, but her favorite joy was in raising her family.
