The visitation and service will be held Thursday, January 22, 2026 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, in Cass City. Visitation will begin at 9am until the time of service at 11am. Pastor Steve Bagnall will be officiating. The luncheon will be held immediately following the service at the church. Burial will be at 2pm at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Sebewaing. Memorial donations may be given to Heritage Hill Assisted Living and Memory Care, 1430 Cleaver Rd., Caro, MI 48723 or Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 628 Main St., Cass City, MI 48726. Marcia is survived by her children: Gina (Larry) Smith of Pigeon and Gordon (Susan) Hoffman of Germantown Hills, IL; grandchildren: Kayla (Matthew) Livingston, Chad Smith and Craig (Kailey) Smith; great grandchildren: Landon and Liam Livingston and Stella Smith; and several nieces and nephews. Marcia is preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter, infant MaryKay Hoffman; and brothers: Richard and Larry Abke.

Biography

Marcia J. Hoffman, age 88, of Cass City, passed away January 16, 2026 with her family by her side. Marcia was born in Unionville on May 5, 1937, to Cecil and Martha (Weihl) Abke. She graduated from Unionville High School in 1955. She married Elmer G. Hoffman on April 28, 1956 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Caro. He preceded her in death in 2009. Marcia helped do the financials for their farm, drove school bus for Cass City Public Schools for 25 years and was the Grant Township Treasurer for 25 years. She enjoyed cardinals, visiting Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, cooking, baking the most delicious bread, crocheting, knitting, and especially enjoyed quilting.
