A mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Evangelist Catholic Church in Ubly, MI. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 2nd, 2026 at the Good Shepherd Parish Center. Visitation will also be Tuesday at the church, prior to service at 9 a.m. Arrangements are being handled by the Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor Beach. Memories can be shared at www.RamseyFH.com
Henry is survived by his children Harold Grifka, Denise (Gary) Staggs, Duane (Helen) Grifka, Kevin (Shelly) Grifka, his grandchildren Clint Cadieux, "Heather (Seth) Walk," Burt (Kelsey) Grifka, Evan (Maddie) Grifka, Aaron Grifka, Jack Grifka and his friend Addison, and Josie Grifka and her friend Trevor. He is also survived by 4 great-grandchildren with one on the way, his sisters Stacia Fisher and Linda Tate, and brother William (Bill)Grifka and sister in-law, Helen Grifka. Henry is preceded in death by his wife, Bertha, his infant son David, grand child Hannah Grifka, siblings Ervin Grifka, Jerry Grifka, Lillian Krug, Bernadene Jansen, Gloria Schelke, and Mike Grifka.
Henry “Calvin” Grifka passed away January 30th, 2026 after a long, full life at the age of 92. He was born September 20th, 1933 to the late Michael and Agnes (Pionk) Grifka. As a child he worked on the farm along side his parents and siblings and would walk to Hogsback School everyday. He later graduated from Ubly High school, class of 1953. After graduation he served as a barber in the US Army from 1953-1956. When he came home, he started his own farm while working at Active Industries from 1956 to 1963. He married the late Bertha (Smalley) Grifka on August 20th, 1955. Henry was an avid hunter especially deer and fox. He was one of the original founders and member of the Ubly Fox Hunters Club. He loved sports, especially Golf and enjoyed many weekends with his brothers and close friends at Ubly Heights. He was a member of good Shepherd parish Catholic Church in Ubly. Henry was a hard worker and instilled a strong work ethic in his 4 children. He was farming up until the end of his life.
