Funeral Services for Arvilla will be on Friday, February 27, 2026 at 11 am at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Bad Axe. Burial will follow at Port Austin Township Cemetery. Friends may call for Visitation on Thursday, February 26, 2026 from 2-7pm at the our Savior Lutheran Church in Bad Axe, or on Friday, at the church from 10 am until time of services at 11 am. Memorials may be offered to Our Savior Lutheran Church or the Lupus Foundation. Arrangements are being handled by the Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor Beach. Arvilla is survived by her four sons: Larry (Ellen) Schuman of Presque Isle, Denis Schuman of Sandusky, Arnold Schuman of Bad Axe, Kenneth (Cheryl) Schuman of Munger, two daughters: Diane (James) Trelewski of Bay City, and Catherine Apley of Bad Axe. Ten grandchildren: Daniel (Emily) Schuman of Ada, Leah (Larry) Reid of Marquette, Keith Schuman of Bad Axe, Ashley Schuman (Michael Thompson) of Colorado Springs, William (Ashley Evon) Schuman of Freeland, Christopher (Stacy) Trelewski of Bay City, Jennifer (Jeremy) Johnson of Saginaw, Donald (Pam Wolschlager) Apley of Bad Axe, grandaughter-in-law Rachel Apley of Essexville, Jeremy (Maddy) Apley of Filion. Thirteen great grandchildren: Benjamin and Micah, Nora Schuman; Alice, Marie and Olive Reid, Ivy Schuman, and one little Schuman on the way, Alexis Trelewski, Elliana and Lilyana Johnson; Zachary and Natalie Apley, Allison Apley. Her brother and sister-in-law Milton and Judy Etzler, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Don, in-laws: William and Matilda Schuman, daughter-in-law Doraleth (Dodi) Schuman, son-in-law Larry Apley, grandson Michael Apley, sister and brother-in-law: Betty Jo and Harold Schuman, and William (Jack) and Evelyn Ruby.
Arvilla Marie Schuman, age 95 of Bad Axe, passed away at Meadow Lanes Assisted Living on Saturday, February 21, 2026. Arvilla was born on October 5, 1930 in Kinde, to the late Rueben and Helena (Moeller) Etzler. She married Donald Schuman at St. John Lutheran Church in Midland on December 3, 1949. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Kinde for many years, before transferring to Our Savior Lutheran Church in Bad Axe. Arvilla was a typical mother caring for her family. She enjoyed sewing and did lots of mending for her family. Her most favorite was cooking and baking, her donuts and sticky buns were the best. She also enjoyed looking for bargains at estate sales and antique shops. She was a 4 H Leader when her children were younger and all involved.
