Funeral Information

The Funeral Mass for James Holland will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at St. Hubert Parish – Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 311 Whitelam St. Bad Axe, MI 48413. Celebrating will be Rev. Fr. Yesu Mulakaleti. Visitation will take place at the MacAlpine Funeral Home, 302 N. Hanselman St. Bad Axe, MI 48413, on Saturday, March 28, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. At 12:30 p.m. family and friends will gather to say their final goodbyes at the funeral home, and then travel in procession to Sacred Heart Catholic Church to celebrate the Funeral Mass at 1:00 p.m. At the request of James and his family, cremation will take place following services. Family of the Deceased

James is survived by his two children, Jayson Megdanoff of Bad Axe and Jennifer Holland, Sebewaing, and granddaughter, Alyssa Holland and a great-child arriving in September, and many nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, James was preceded in death by his brother Steve Holland and sister Dawn Bond.

Biography

James Holland 66 years old, of Filion Michigan, passed away Monday, March 16, 2026 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 7, 1960 in Pontiac, Michigan, son of the late James and Judy (Bond) Holland. James married Mary LaLone on and she preceded him in death on March 3, 2025. James graduated in 1978 from Avondale High School. James was a hardworking man, and a great provider. He would give you the shirt off his back and help you in any way needed. He loved one woman all of his life. To his granddaughter, He was her life. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was completing classes to join the Catholic Church.
