Mass of Christian burial for Robert Schenk will take place on Friday April 10, 2026 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Hubert Parish/ Sacred Heart Catholic church with Fr. Yesu Mulakaleti officiating. Visitation will take place on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at MacAlpine Funeral Home from 2:00-8:00 pm. and also on Friday at the church from 10:00am until the time of service at 11:30 a.m. Per Bob’s wishes, cremation will take place after the service with private burial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorials to be offered to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association in Bob’s name. Bob is survived by his wife Patricia; daughter Shannon; son’s Aaron (fiancé Aimee), Ryan (Laura); brothers Joe (Ardis), Ron (Patricia), Richard (Kathy); sister Joanne Grasso; sister-in-law Brenda (Darrell) Mayle; special nephew Alex, and many other nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brother Dennis; and brothers-in-law Mike Grasso and Michael Whelihan.
Robert Lee Schenk, 79 years, passed away on Friday April 3, 2026 at Autumn Wood in Deckerville. Bob was born on March 24, 1947 to the late Joseph and Charlotte (Toner) Schenk in Ubly. After graduation from high school, Bob was drafted into the Army and he served his country in Vietnam for 2 tours. On August 21, 1971 he married the love of his life Patricia Whelihan and they would have soon celebrated 55 years together of raising their children and creating many memories. Bob was a lifelong member of St. Hubert Parish/ Sacred Heart Catholic church. Bob was a hardworking man and was often called upon to help with back hoe work. He was a good operator of heavy machinery, and spent many hours on the seat of his back hoe. He spent years developing their property that began as woods to the landscaped yard they now have. Bob enjoyed hunting deer and bear with his boys, and was known as the camp cook. He also looked forward to his many years of trips to Drummond Island for fishing.
