Funeral service for Janice Ciesielski will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026 at MacAlpine Gage Chapel in Kinde at 1:00 pm, with burial to follow at St. Felix Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, May 15 at MacAlpine Gage Chapel from 10:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm. Memorials in Janice’s name may be offered to the Kinde Food Pantry. She is survived by her son Jess (Lisa) Ciesielski, from Freeland, Michigan; sisters Martha Shaw and Michelle Murawski; grandchildren Zane, Lillian; several nieces and nephews; her mother-in-law Mary Ann Porritt; sisters-in-law Barb Ciesielski, Val (Gary) Niziolek, and Sally Doerr. Along with her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her brothers; Bob Wilson, Dan Wilson, Tom Wilson; brothers in law Wayne Shaw, Jim Ciesielski; nephew Joshua Shaw; nieces Nicole Doerr and Shannon Niziolek. The family wishes to thank Stone Crest for the wonderful love and care given to Janice while she was living there.

Biography

Janice Marie Ciesielski, 71, formerly from Kinde, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026 at Stone Crest Assisted Living in Freeland, Michigan. She was born on November 19, 1952 to the late Robert and Marie (Ruth) Wilson. She and Henry “Chip” Ciesielski were married for 45 years before he passed away in 2021. Janice enjoyed spending time bowling with her sister, playing cards on Sundays with the family, knitting and reading and working in her vegetable garden.
