Biography

Norman F. Maeder 86 years old of Bad Axe, passed away on Saturday June 6, 2026. Norman was born on May 23, 1940 in Roseville, Michigan. Norman married the love of his life Sandra (Jacobs) in 1963 and they were married for 62 years before she passed away in 2025. Together they raised their family of two sons. Norman was a State Sergeant and served for 32 years mostly in the Bad Axe State Police Post. Norman was a member of the Bad Axe Free Methodist Church and the McDonald’s coffee club, never missing a chance to meet with his “drinking buddies”. He was an all around great guy and an excellent woodworker. He had a strong faith in God and lived his life that way. Norman had great respect for people and never judged people for who they were. He religiously attended Bible Studies using that knowledge to continue to share God’s message of Love with others. His sons enjoyed talking and spending time with him and all the days of coon and rabbit hunting trips they took together. Norman was a great animal lover and had many dogs over his lifetime.
