Visitation for Fran's "final goodbyes" will be on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, beginning at 10 am until mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Rapson, following a "walk with Fran" to her final resting place at the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers or mass offerings, Fran's request, your generosity to: St. Thomas Aquinas Out Reach mass, 955 Alton Rd, East Lansing, 48823, OLLH Catholic School in Harbor Beach, or the St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery in Rapson fund. Fran thanks the wonderful staff from Heartland Hospice for their wonderful care, even though being stubborn, she felt happy. The family would like to thank the same with their guidance during her "part of death process." Arrangements are being handled by the Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor Beach. Fran is survived by her daughters: Merry Chris Mankin, of Maryland, Sandy of Bad Axe, grandson: Fred (Kerrie), great granddaughter Ronni, of Grindstone City; grandsons: Adam Mankin, of Colorado, Tyler Mankin of Maryland, sisters: Bea Kubacki, Pat (Herb) Vogel, and many nieces and nephews. Fran was preceded in death by her siblings: infant Margaret Susalla, William (Martha) Susalla, Theresa (Paul) Skipinski, Eleanor (Frank) Talaski, Art (Marie) Susalla, Irene (Gordon) Eden, Agnes (Eugene) Gorkowski, Jake (Evelyn) Susalla, brother-in-law Clarence Kubacki, in-laws: Ed (Leona) Koceba, Herman (Helen) Kociba, Gertie (Bill) Dudek, Irene (Frank) Costello, Margaret Puckette, Bertha (Jack) Schmelzer, Tillie (Joe) Marenick.

Biography

On July 18, 2026 as the Lord called Frances Koceba, "you can come home now" being welcomed by her husband of 73 years Izzy, daughter Judith Anna and son Ronald Anthony. Frances (Fritz) Josephine was born on December 15, 1922 to the late Fabian and Mary (Abraham) Susalla, being the sixth of eleven children. Fran's first life adventure started at the age of 18, (1940) moving to Detroit working as an A-1 inspector for Briggs' Manufacturing. A job she truly loved. In 1945, on June 8, Fran became Mrs. Isadore (Izzy) Koceba at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Parisville. In 1949, moving to Rapson taking over the family farm having four children of their own. They joined St. Joseph's Catholic Church where Fran became a member of the Daughters of Isabella, St. Rita Altar Society and having a passion of decorating the church altar with her own style of flower arrangements for Sunday masses. Becoming members of the Rapson Sportsmens' Club, Fran was given a surprise birthday party by her family and friends. An active bowler twice a week in Bad Axe and golfer in Cass City, they became members of the Rolling Hills Golf Course. Selling the farm in 1976, they became "snowbirds: in Florida during the winter months, where Fran mastered the art of macramé. After 26 years, they moved to Bad Axe in 1993, joining the Senior Center where she enjoyed bingo on Thursday's. After the passing of Izzy in 2018, Fran's final journey began with game shows, word search puzzles and spending time with her great granddaughter
