Robert is survived by his four children: Dawn (Jerry) Carbeno, Pamela (Kurt) Bechler, Dean (Lorie) Copenhagen, and Steven Copenhagen, all of Bad Axe, grandchildren: Ryan Rowley, Hope Rowley, Autumn Carbeno, Rachel (Tyler) Cathel, Heather (Scott) Miller, Stephanie (Chris) Terrill, Kegan Copenhagen, Delilah Copenhagen, Amanda Copenhagen, Amber Copenhagen, great grandchildren: Afreya Griffin, Emmitt Miller, Hudson Terrill, and Olivia Cathel. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Richard Copenhagen, Delores Fraley, Ruth Fraley, Mildred Riedel, and Dorothy Ann Gramer.

Biography

Robert Joseph Copenhagen, age 83 of Bad Axe, passed away Peacefully on July 23, 2026 at his home. Robert was born on March 23, 1943 in Richmond, Michigan. He was the son of the late Francis and Anna (Ficht) Copenhagen. Robert Copenhagen and Betty Distelrath were united in marriage on October 9, 1965 in St. Clair, MI. Betty preceded Robert in death on May 4, 2025. Robert owned a Snack Food Distributorship and worked in various grocery stores. He also earned his real estate license and served as a notary doing home closings. Growing up on a produce farm he became an avid gardener. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling.
