Funeral Information

A Celebration of Dominick's Life will be held Friday, August 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Bad Axe Free Methodist Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 am. Pastor Ean Green and Cara Dorsch will officiate. Cremation will follow at Sunset Valley Crematory in Bay City. The family asks that those who knew Dominick honor him by looking out for someone who feels left out, cheering for the underdog, and living life with the same fearless heart and kindness that he showed every day. He is survived by his parents; his stepmother, Bridgett Dahlke; his stepfather, Alex Lerash; his siblings, Winter Stonecipher, Maxton Lerash, and Avery Lerash; his grandparents, Steven and Abby Stonecipher, Deanna Dumaw, Teresa Holdwick, Steven Power, Grandma Leann Gaval-Power and Papa Rob Pineau; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, teammates, classmates, and countless friends who will carry his memory with them always.

Biography

With broken hearts, we announce the unexpected passing of Dominick S. Stonecipher of Bad Axe on August 2, 2026, at just 15 years old. Dominick was born on October 26, 2010, to Michael Stonecipher and Kaitlind Pineau. He was deeply loved by his parents, his stepmother Bridgett Dahlke, his stepfather Alex Lerash, his sister Winter Stonecipher, his brother Maxton Lerash, his sister Avery Lerash, and a family who cherished every moment they had with him. To know Dominick was to know a kid who lived life at full speed. Whether he was on the football field, at the basketball courts, in the gym with his friends, or trying something new, he gave everything he had. He had a natural athletic ability that couldn't be taught. Football was his passion, but no matter the sport, he had a way of making it look effortless. What made Dominick special wasn't just his talent—it was his heart. He noticed the kids who felt left out. He stood up for the underdog. More than once, after doing the hard work to get his team down the field, he'd make sure someone else had the chance to score the touchdown because seeing another kid experience that moment meant more to him than getting the credit himself. That's just who he was. He had a larger-than-life personality, a quick sense of humor, and the kind of energy that filled every room. He loved his friends fiercely, could make people laugh without even trying, and lived every day with a passion that was impossible to ignore. He was a leader to so many, both on and off the field, and his impact reached far beyond his fifteen years. Dominick was a member of Youth for Christ and carried a strong faith alongside his adventurous spirit and love for life.
