Candy dearly loved her family. She is survived by her children, Tracey (Jim) Schenk of Bad Axe, Tara (Jay) Parr of Brown City and Tyler Oeschger of Breckenridge, Colorado; her grandchildren Owen (Natalie Pallas), Evan Schenk (Brooke Messing), Mildred, Hazel, and Miles Parr, and her sister, Penny Howard. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the Huron County Medical Care Facility for the compassionate care, kindness and love they showed Candy throughout her years there.
Candace Marie Oeschger, age 80 of Port Hope passed away Saturday, August 8, 2026 at Huron County Medical Care Facility. Born in Bay City on May 21, 1946 Candy was the daughter of the late Edwin Kanehl and Bernice (Garcin) Kelly. On January 14, 1967 she was united in marriage to Robert Oeschger. They were married for 55 years when Robert passed away on May 2, 2022. Candy graduated from Laker High School in 1964. She worked at Gordon Gemple Insurance most of her career and became a partner of the business in 1998. Candy was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at age 40, beginning a journey that would test her in ways few could imagine. Yet she met each day with courage, positivity and a strength that became an inspiration to everyone around her. She always enjoyed a clean house, Pepsi, and Fox News.
