Funeral service for Bertha Dondineau will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at 11:00 am with visitation from 10:00 am until the time of service. Family of the Deceased

Bertha was preceeded in death by her husband Gordon; her son, Gordon Jr, and many other dear family members and friends she had carried in her heart throughout her long life. Her family finds comfort in imaging the joyful reunion awaiting her. She leaves behind generations of family who will carry with them the memories, traditions, recipes, and love she gave so freely throughout her life.

Biography

Bertha Alberta Dondineau went home to the Lord on August 23rd, 2026. Born February 24, 1930 to the late Samuel and Eva Rose (Neiss) Guster, Bertha was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose home and heart were always open to those around her. Bertha married the love of her life, Gordon Dondineau, on August 12, 1950. Together, they built a life centered around family and raised three daughters and two sons: Marjorie Dondineau, Patti Dondineau, Jennifer (Chad) Alexander, Gordon Dondineau Jr. and James (Rose) Dondineau. Bertha found joy in the simple things in life, especially tending to her garden, baking, and caring for the people she loved. She was particularly well known for her homemade pies, and anyone who visited Bertha knew one thing for certain—you never left her home with an empty stomach. There was always something to eat, a cup of coffee to share, and most likely a piece of pie waiting for you. Her kitchen and home were gathering places for generations of family and friends. She welcomed people easily and generously, making room at her table for anyone who came through the door. Through the years, her family grew to include many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and even great-great grandchildren, each of whom became part of the beautiful legacy she and Gordon created together. More than anything, Bertha will be remembered for the way she cared for people. Giving was in her nature, and she never let anyone leave a visit empty-handed, rather it was a loaf of bread, or a jar of jam she always found joy in sharing what she had with others.
