Funeral Information

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church, located at 120 N. Outer Drive, Bad Axe, MI 48413. Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church. Vern will be laid to rest in Colfax Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Ramsey Funeral Home.

Family of the Deceased

He is survived by his three daughters, Tammy (Kevin - deceased) DeBoer of Bad Axe; Teresa (Larry) Storinsky of Dryden, Michigan; and Tanya (Joel) Haselhuhn of Berrien Springs. He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife and his precious parents. He loved spending time with his nine cherished grandchildren: Scott (Jenny) DeBoer, Jacquelyn (Joseph) Paulino, Aaron (Meayah) Haselhuhn, Christian Storinsky and Bri McGraw, and Andrew Haselhuhn. Even more, he loved playing with his nine great-grandchildren: Warren DeBoer, Lily Puvalowski, Vincent Puvalowski, Lucas DeBoer, Jeremiah DeBoer, Abigail Haselhuhn, Hudson Haselhuhn, Scarlette Paulino, and Rowan Paulino.

Biography

Vern Frederick Seibert Jr., age 88 of Bad Axe, Michigan, passed away surrounded by his daughters. He met his Lord and Savior face-to-face on August 30, 2026. He was born on June 30, 1938, in Kansas City Raytown, Missouri, the son of Vern Seibert Sr. and Mary Elizabeth. He married LaJean Clark on August 14, 1960, in Flint, Michigan. Vern's life foundation was his faith in Jesus Christ and His true Word. He served the Lord throughout his life in countless ways: choir director, Promise Keeper, Bible teacher and mentor. He was a graduate of GMI (Kettering) and earned a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering and worked at General Motors until retirement. He also served his community in many ways. He served as Chairman of Bad Axe Fire Department, member of the City Council, and was the lead on the beautification of the downtown Pocket Park. Vern had many hobbies and talents which kept him always moving: excellent golfer, competitive roller-skater, member of a photography club, all around game player and always won every game he played - and that is total truth! He was also very proud of being the Entertainment Manager at Meadow Lane Assisted Living. Above all else, his love and faithfulness to his family was lived out every single day.
