It is with deep love that we announce that Marcelino Moreno Sr. went home to the Lord on October 30, 2026 at the age of 84. He was born in Edcouch, Texas, to the late Guadalupe and Luisa V. Moreno on October 22, 1942. Marcelino grew up very humbly, having spent little time in school, he began his life learning the value of hard work. Marcelino spent many years devoting his life to being a farm hand while also working as a mechanic. Through the relationships he made, he was offered an opportunity to become a manager at Active Industries, which he was employed at until his retirement. After retirement he found joy in serving the Lord at his home parish: Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church, of the Holy Name of Mary Parish in Harbor Beach. On September 14, 1962, in Leipsic, Ohio, Marcelino was united in marriage with Colombina Trevino. Together they shared a life devoted to their family, whom they cherished spending time with. Over the years, he built a life centered on family, faith, and service. Marcelino was known for his love of cars and grilling. He found joy in helping his neighbors with various yardwork as well as gardening and sharing the fruits of his labors. He also enjoyed donating to the food pantry, as he knew what it meant to go without the necessities of life. Marcelino taught his family the value of hard work, car maintenance, humility and humbleness, to make mistakes and still carry your head held high, and that family is always there. He always made sure that his family and friends knew they could count on him no matter the time or place. Above all, Marcelino will be remembered for his adoration of church and faith. His unconditional love for his family, his enjoyment and knowledge of all sports, especially the Detroit Tigers, and for always making sure his kids knew to carry a tire gauge.
