Deckerville School's Superintendent Receives an "Effective" Rating

During Monday's meeting of the Deckerville Community School District's Board of Education, they gave Superintendent Matthew Connelly a performance rating of "effective," which is the highest rating.
Under Michigan's Department of Education regulations teachers and administrators are evaluated on their performance.
The evaluation process takes in several factors and complicated regulations. After reviewing an administrator's performance, the board assigns the administrator with a rating of effective, minimally effective or ineffective.
In other action, the board approved a long-term suspension of a ninth-grade student for violations of the student code.
The board also approved hiring Kayla Radloff as a kindergarten teacher, and hiring Sussi Trigger as the elementary school secretary.
The board accepted the resignation of Ben Smith as varsity baseball coach.
