The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) awarded $750,000 to fund a special program for farmers.

The money is for the "Beginning Farmer and Rancher Development Program" (BFRDP) grant to help more farmers. The funds will be used for land access, building farm businesses and transitioning farmland to the next generation.

The three-year program will bring together state industry partners to expand resources and connections for beginning farmers, farmland owners, mentorship opportunities, and farm business planning and education.
