Some Tuscola Townships will Only Have Road Millages on Ballot

The following Tuscola County townships will have road millage requests on the Aug. 4 ballot.


Akron Township will request a renewal of 1.8730 mills for five years for road maintenance and upkeep. If approved, it would generate about $273,366 the first year.


Almer Charter Township will ask to renew .9923 of a mill for four years. Passage would bring the millage up to 1 mill that was reduced by the Headlee rollback. If approved, the millage would generate about $81,000 the first year.

Also, newcomer Rachel Chisholm, who is a Republican, is running for the partial term as Almer Charter Township clerk.


Denmark Township will ask to renew 1 mill for 10 years maintenance, construction, and preserving roads. If approved, the millage would generate about $137,000 the first year.

There will be another request for 1 mill for 10 years to fund roads also. If approved, the millage would generate about $137,000 the first year.


Koylton Township will ask to renew 2 mills for two years for road maintenance. If approved, the millage will generate about $129,000 the first year.


Tuscola Township will ask voters to approve an extra road improvement millage of 1 mill for four years to do maintenance, construction, and upgrades. If approved, the millage would generate about $109,600 the first year.
