Tuscola County EDC Reports STEMCO Expansion Progress In Millington

The Tuscola County Economic Development Corporation (EDC) confirmed this week that staff conducted a pro-business inspection of the new building expansion at STEMCO's facility in the Millington Industrial Park. The visit follows earlier approval by the Millington Village Council of a tax abatement package to support the company's expansion efforts, with assistance from EDC staff.
STEMCO, a long-established manufacturer in the commercial vehicle components sector based on Industrial Drive in Millington, received local support for an Industrial Facilities Tax Exemption tied to its capital investment. According to the Michigan State Tax Commission's October 2025 agenda, STEMCO Products, Inc.'s tax abatement application for investment in Millington was recommended for approval, reflecting a capital investment of approximately $2.34 million.
The EDC indicated it is continuing engagement with other local businesses to assist with site location, expansion planning and incentive programs throughout Tuscola County. The organization's mission includes supporting job creation, business retention, and attracting new investment to the region.
The Village of Millington, located in Tuscola County's Lower Thumb region, regularly considers tax abatement and planning requests at its scheduled council meetings, generally held on the second Monday of each month.
