The St. Clair County Sheriff's Department announced a man has been arrested in connection to a string of home invasions that have been happening in the county.
From Nov. 28 through Dec. 3, the St. Clair County Sheriff's Department had taken five home invasion reports, across multiple townships.
It was determined that an unknown delivery driver had been breaking into residences while on his delivery route.
The spree came to an end when deputies located and arrested 32 year old Deonte King of Redford following a sixth and seventh home invasion.
Deputies were called to the area of Werner Road in Columbus Township after the resident arrived home to find his home had been broken into.
No one was found on scene but multiple unique valuables were taken from that home.
A "be on the lookout" was sent to area law enforcement for the suspect vehicle and individual.
Law enforcement officers located King, who was stopped in a white box truck not far from the last home. He was taken into custody.
Detectives were able to match most of the recovered stolen goods for return to their rightful owners.
King is facing two felonies. He is charged with one count of first degree home invasion, and with five counts of Home Invasion in the second degree.
His bond was set at $200,000 cash/surety.
"With the help of local and federal agencies in the area, we were able to locate King and prevent further incidents," said Sheriff Mat King.
During this time of year, delivery drivers are out in abundance but it is still important that residents keep track of when they are and are not expecting a delivery.
It is also important for residents to keep their doors and windows locked, especially when they are not home.
If anyone notices someone acting suspiciously, community members are urged to call 911.
