EPBP Laker Schools Board of Education Meeting Notes

The EPBP Laker Schools Board of Education will hold its regular Laker Board Meeting on Monday, December 15, 2025, at 6 p.m. in the district. The meeting is open to the public and will follow the agenda outlined below.
Meeting agenda
- Call to order - President Williams
- Pledge of Allegiance - President Williams
- Approval of regular minutes - President Williams, Secretary Tait (action requested)
- Treasurer's report - Treasurer Scaddan (action requested): December 2025 general fund bills of 53,944.02; 2025 capital projects bills of 83,750.00; food service bills of 12,289.64; and a food service to general fund payroll/liabilities transfer of 47,799.09
- Acceptance of agenda - President Williams (action requested)

District reports
- Building Futures Together - President Williams and Principal Miklovic will recognize Mr. Scharf for his leadership of the District AI Committee and his work as an innovative teacher leader, including program development and future-focused learning opportunities for students.
- Auditor's report - CFO Klosowski and Angela Burnette will present the annual audit for board information and acceptance, with a recommendation to approve the audit as presented.
- District bond update - Superintendent VerBurg will report that kitchen renovation drawings are complete and ready to go to RC Hendrick for bidding, with bids expected for kitchen work on December 18 and new storage building projects in January for summer 2026 construction.
Personnel actions
- Hiring: Amanda Schumacher is recommended for approval as Middle School Math Intervention Teacher; she has more than 10 years of experience teaching mathematics and social studies in a local district and resides in the Laker district.
- Hiring: Lindsay Reibling, a 2001 Laker graduate, is recommended for approval as a part-time elementary intervention paraprofessional and as an elementary paraprofessional.

- Administrator time (for information): reports scheduled from Ms. Williams (student representative), Mr. Comai, Mr. Klosowski, Mrs. Reithel, Mr. Miklovic, Mr. Good, Mrs. Parker, and Mrs. VerBurg.
